Duties and Responsibilities of Department or Committee:
To assist property owners with land use issues
To make recommendations on all properties being withdrawn from classification
To identify and formulate uses for town owned land
To work cooperatively with other departments, land trusts, and state and federal agencies to promote and assist land preservation and use
To develop a plan for establishing a capital reserve fund for open space acquisition
To determine the best non-regulatory method of preserving parcels identified for future acquisition
To identify and then apply to all relevant federal, state, and private sources for sources of funding and grants for open space acquisition
