On September 30, 2008, the Sutton Board of Selectmen voted to take the Energy Star Challenge and reduce energy consumption in Town buildings by 10%. In addition, the Board voted to create a Green Energy Ad-Hoc Committee. The two primary goals of the Committee will be to work with Town and School officials to identify ways to reduce our energy use and to educate the Town on energy conservation, alternative energy, and overall energy awareness. If you have a passion for energy issues and/or have experience in energy conservation/alternative energy and would like to serve on this committee please email Town Administrator Jim Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you don't have the time or inclination to serve on the committee but would like to volunteer for various energy awareness events on Earth Day, Water's Farm Days or other activities we could use your help. Drop us an email or give us a call, together we can make Sutton a greener place to live. For more information on Sutton's Green Enery efforts click here.
