Land for Sale-Gravel Pit
The Town of Sutton is seeking proposals for the purchase of a Town-owned parcel of land, known as the Town Gravel Pit and operated as such, located off of Providence Road, Sutton, MA, containing 8.91 acres, more or less, and being a portion of the premises described in a deed recorded with the Worcester South Registry of Deeds in Book 5016, Page 115. The Property will be conveyed with the benefit of an access and utility easement over a gravel driveway leading from Providence Road to the Property. The Property lacks frontage.
The Town of Sutton is interested in selling the Property and requests proposals for monetary consideration in an amount not less than Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00).
Specifications may be obtained at the Town Administrator’s Office, Second Floor, 4 Uxbridge Road, Sutton, MA 01590, between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Thursday until scheduled opening of bid.
Proposals will be accepted at the Board of Selectmen’s Office, 4 Uxbridge Road, Sutton, MA 01590, on or before 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, May 8, 2009, at which time and place the proposals will be publicly opened.
The successful proposer and the Town shall enter into a purchase and sale agreement within thirty (30) days from the date of the award, and the closing shall occur within sixty (60) days from the date on which the parties enter into the Purchase and Sale Agreement. The Town’s obligation to convey the Property is subject to Town Meeting authorization, among other contingencies.
The town of Sutton reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, or to reject any and all bids, or to accept proposals deemed to be in the best interest of the town of Sutton.
