Town News - Funding Secured for Goddard Lodge at Marion's Camp
From the Millbury Sutton Chronicle 2015-08-20:

Funding secured for Goddard Lodge at Marion’s Camp

SUTTON – Massachusetts State Sen. Ryan Fattman, supported by Rep. Joseph McKenna, secured $100,000 in funding for restoration of Goddard Lodge at Marion’s Camp. This funding matches more than $50,000 in municipal funding and an anonymous $150,000 donation from an area resident.

Restoration is currently in the design phase. Timing of the actual work will depend on when the state funds are released as well as firm cost estimates that will be developed during design. More funding may be necessary based on the estimates. The town took title to the Camp in 1989 from Worcester Camp Fire who utilized the location from 1928 to the late 1980s hosting hundreds of girls and boys from all over Worcester County in two week long overnight camps and later week long day camps. Goddard Lodge was moved to this location from the Goddard/Ward family farm in Auburn where Dr. Robert Goddard conducted his first famous rocket flights.
