Walmart sewer project nears completion

During the Board of Selectmen May 16 meeting, Town Administrator Jim Smith said the Walmart sewer project should be finished sometime in the first week of June.
The Board signed an intermunicipal agreement with Northbridge, along with retailer Walmart, during its July 19, 2016, meeting, paving the way for sewer service to parts of Northbridge. Northbridge will pump its sewerage to the Sutton Wastewater Treatment Facility on Hough Road.
The reason behind the June completion date is because of issues with ledge, Smith said.
“There’s currently 500 feet of gravity sewer installed,” he said. “Sewer manholes have been relocated, and laterals have installed for future connections.”
Walmart is waiting for the power source to be connected to the Main Street pump station.
