Welcome
The Council on Aging (COA) is part of a National, State and Local
organization dedicated to the needs and interests of senior citizens within a
community. The Sutton COA coordinates and operates social and educational
programs. The Sutton COA also provides many services which include information
and referrals to many outside resources that help improve the quality of life
for seniors.
Nutrition
The Tri-Valley Meal Site at the Sutton Senior Center serves hot meals at
noon Monday - Friday. Home delivered meals can be arranged for eligible seniors.
A $2.00 contribution is suggested. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours
in advance. Call 508-234-0703.
Newsletter
The Sutton Council on Aging sends out a monthly newsletter called the
"60+". This publication provides health and legal information, meal site menus,
birthday and anniversary listings, calendar of events, and much more. If you
are not on our mailing list please give us a call.
Transportation
Seniors or disabled residents can arrange transportation by calling
508-234-6688 at least 48 hours in advance. You may use S.C.M. Elderbus
transportation for medical appointments, grocery shopping or attending programs
at the Senior Center. There is a nominal fee.
Health
Blood Pressure screening is held once a week at the Senior Center.
Please call for the schedule. Flu shots and special health screening clinics
are held periodically and are advertised in the 60+.
Tax Assistance
An AARP volunteer is available in February and March by appointment
at the Senior Center for your tax preparation needs.
Friends of Sutton Elders
The Friends group in the fundraising arm of the Senior Center.
They hold their planning meeting at 10am the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the
Senior Center. They host bingo every Friday at 1pm. There is a small
membership fee. All ages are welcome to join.
Golden Age Club
The Golden Age Club is a social club that meets at 1pm the 1st and
3rd Wednesday of each month at the Senior Center. They host bingo every
Wednesday at 1pm. Dues are very reasonable and payable once a year.
Volunteer Program
The Senior Center has an extensive volunteer program which includes
Meal Site, Receptionist, Friendly Visitor, Escort Program and many more.

Programs and Social Activities
There are a vast array of programs held at the Senior Center,
including, Exercise class, Computer class, Cribbage, Videos, Entertainment,
Guest Speakers, Walking Club, Intergenerational Events, Discussion Group, Chorus
and much more. The staff is always open to offering new programs.
S.H.I.N.E.
(Serving Health Information Needs of Elders) The COA has
trained counselors available to assist you with health benefits information.

Chore Corps
This program pairs seniors who need odd jobs done with local teens
who are willing to do the "chore". The senior is responsible for paying the
teen a recommended fee.
Outreach
An outreach worker is on staff to assist seniors and their families
with information, questions and issues that may arise. The outreach worker also
follows seniors while they are hospitalized or in long term care facilities.
