RAD - Rape Aggression Defense

The Sutton Police Department is seeking interested applicants for a women's R.A.D. Basic Physical Defense Program. The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self defense tactics and techniques for women. The program is a comprehensive women only course that consists of training women in assertiveness, awareness, risk reduction, risk recognition, avoidance, and physical defense strategies.

The Rape Aggression Defense program is approximately 12 hours long and is broken up into 4 class sessions, 3 hours long (each class). There are both classroom instruction and physical technique instruction in the program. Women are encouraged to wear loose fitting athletic attire and sneakers throughout the program.
