Boat Patrol

Boat Patrol

The Town of Sutton is home to two major waterways, Lake Singletary and Manchaug Pond. These are heavily patrolled during the boating season. There are currently 6 officers assigned to boat patrol. These officers have received specialized training in boating laws, rules and regulations. The Boat Patrol works closely with the Sutton Fire Department, Massachusetts Environmental Police and the Douglas Dive Team.

The goal of the Boat Patrol is to provide a safe enviornment of the residents and visitors of the town's waterways. Officers on these patrols conduct inspections, investigations, render aid to disabled boats and inform boaters of basic boating practices.

For information about boating rules and regulations or other questions or comments regarding activities on the waterways, please contact the Sutton Police Department's business line at (508) 865-4449.
