Sutton Power Choice
The Town of Sutton has an electricity aggregation program called Sutton Power Choice. In this program, National Grid delivers electricity to Sutton. The Town selects its own electricity supplier. Beginning in January 2026, prices for Sutton Power Choice, the Town’s group electricity buying program, will fall. The change will occur as the current electricity supply contract for Sutton Power Choice ends and a new, 24-month contract with First Point Power takes effect.

This price change will not only erase the recent September price increase, which occurred because of a regulatory change, it will also drop prices below the levels originally established in the current electricity supply contract.

Power Choice Standard – Lowering from 15.031 ¢/kWh to 14.142 ¢/kWh. Most participants are enrolled in the Power Choice Standard option.

Power Choice Green – Lowering from 15.911 ¢/kWh to 14.947 ¢/kWh. The Power Choice Green option provides 100% renewable electricity from sources both within and outside of New England, including an additional 20% from new renewable sources in the New England region over and above the minimum required by state law.

The new prices are fixed for 24 months from January 2026 to January 2028 meter reads. An average household using 800 kWh per month will see a reduction of at least $7/month, regardless of which program option they are enrolled in.

New National Grid Basic Service electricity customers in Sutton will be eligible for automatic enrollment in the program. However, this can take a few months. For faster enrollment, you may call the town consultant at 1.844.483.5004 and ask to join.

If you sign a private contract with an electricity supplier, you will not be automatically enrolled. But you are invited to join. Before joining, we recommend that you first check the terms of your existing electricity supply contract. Many include minimum enrollment periods and early termination fees. If you wish to join, call the town consultant at 1.844.483.5004 and ask to join.
