Lake Singletary To Be Closed on Tuesday, August 23rd

NOTIFICATION OF AQUATIC TREATMENT LAKE SINGLETARY, SUTTON/MILLBURY

Selected areas of Lake Singletary in Sutton/Millbury will be chemically treated with
USEPA/MA registered aquatic herbicides and algaecides to control nuisance and invasive
aquatic vegetation and algae on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022.

The entire lake will be closed to all water uses including swimming, fishing and boating on the day of
treatment. In addition, use of the lake water for livestock watering will be restricted until August 25th,
drinking/cooking until August 27th and irrigation until August 29th.

Printed posters warning of these temporary water use restrictions will be posted along
the lake shoreline in advance of the treatment and will also be available on the Lake
Singletary Association’s web-site at www.lakesingletary.org and click on “News”. The
treatment is being performed for the Lake Singletary Watershed Association, pursuant to
licenses/permits from Mass DEP and the Sutton and Millbury Conservation Commissions.
SOLitude Lake Management of Shrewsbury is the state licensed company who will be
performing the treatment.
