NOTIFICATION OF AQUATIC TREATMENT

LAKE SINGLETARY, SUTTON/MILLBURY

 

Selected areas of Lake Singletary in Sutton/Millbury will be chemically treated with USEPA/MA registered aquatic herbicides to control nuisance and invasive aquatic vegetation on Monday, August 12th.  The lake will be closed to all water uses including swimming, fishing and boating on the day of treatment.  In addition, use of the lake water for livestock watering will be restricted until August 14th, drinking/cooking until August 16th and irrigation until August 18th.  Printed posters warning of these temporary water use restrictions will be posted along the lake shoreline in advance of the treatment and will also be available on the Lake Singletary Association’s web-site at www.lakesingletary.org and click on “News”.  The treatment is being performed for the Lake Singletary Watershed Association, pursuant to licenses/permits from MassDEP and the Sutton and Millbury Conservation Commissions.  SOLitude Lake Management of Shrewsbury is the state licensed company who will be performing the treatment.
